Growing in Faith

While the world around us seems to be going completely insane, I continue to feel like I am growing closer to God. I really feel like my parish’s activity of doing the 33 Days to Divine Mercy helped pave a path to this grace. Between reading the book, discussing it in a group, and spending time in Adoration, it was a perfect recipe for real relationship building with God. I talked more about it and a big turning point in my last post here.

I continue praying my devotions- my favorites are the Rosary and Divine Mercy. But I also try to remember that God is present with us all the time. The more I pray and “talk” to Him, the more I recognize when He “speaks” to me.

No, He does not speak in an audible voice to me. It’s more like a thought that didn’t come from me. An inspirational thought, idea, encouragement, Bible verse, or even action to take.

It’s not unique. He speaks to us all. Yet, in a world so loud screaming, “Where is your God,” we can miss the imperceptible, “I am with you,” in the blink of an eye.

“I am with you always, to the end of the age. “

Mt 28:20

As I continue growing in faith, I find myself grateful for the little things. If you think about the amount of blessings we all have every day, it is astonishing. We have what we need daily. Creation is beautiful and a work of art. I think of the sky is an open canvas where God’s art is put on full display.

What I am discovering is the more we contemplate the goodness of God, the more we are able to truly let Him in our hearts. That becomes the start of a beautiful relationship.

Reflection: How has God spoken to you today?
