One of my favorite pass times is diamond paintings. I have begun a hobby of doing Catholic art, It started out simple enough. Our church has a beautiful mosaic of the Divine Mercy. I thought to myself how beautiful it was and it reminded me of diamond paintings. I decided to order one for myself and try it out.

Not too bad for my first one. Needless to say, I was hooked. I will have a gallery soon with all my previously done diamond paintings.
My latest idea is to have a painting for each mystery of the Rosary. This is a challenging feat, but I am determined. Last week I started with the Sorrowful Mysteries. I already have some paintings done of different mysteries. I can’t wait to post them all. Last week’s was The Agony in the Garden.

I often start from the bottom and work my way up, You can see I’m about 1/3 way up.

Once I get about halfway up, I turn the paining around and work my way down. It’s definitely more difficult this way, but I don’t want half the paining hanging off the table. This can loosen or misplace the diamonds already done.

The completed painting scene is above. The next step is to get a frame for it. This will be part of my Rosary series of Diamond Paintings. I have another version of the Agony that I’ve done last year. I like this one better.
I’m currently working on the carrying of the cross. I can’t wait to share it with everyone.
Do you do diamond paintings? Which ones do you like?
